Day 1.  Arrive in Cape Town where you will be met and looked after the whole time you are here. Your guide will transfer you to the Waterfront where your Portswood Hotel is situated. Check in. If you arrived in the morning you will have time to settle in and then your will have an excursion to Table Mountain. You will be transported by rotating cable-car to get the whole view of the peninsula to the top of the mountain. Once at the top you will have time to walk along the mountain and see the view from the other side of the mountain towards Cape Point. You can spend a few hours here and then take the cable car down again to your vehicle. Return to the hotel. As you are within the Waterfront there are a wide selection of restaurants to enjoy. Overnight Portswood Hotel.

Day 2.  . A Cape Point tour.  Depart at 08h30 for a full day Cape Point tour. Travel from Seapoint to Camps Bay, the Twelve Apostles (Mountains) and Llandudno to Out Bay. We take a cruise from Hout Bay and along Chapmans Peak drive to Seal Island. After the cruise that takes us around the point at the Sentinel to see the seals playing in the water we return to harbor. Drive up to Chapmans Peak drive overlooking the Sentinel across the bay. Spectacular scenes can be seen along this part of the road that takes us around the coastline to Kommetjie and Cape Point Nature Reserve. As you enter the reserve you will see various species of antelope roaming in the fynbos. We arrive at the terminal point from where we will take the funicular train to the top of Cape Point with it’s magnificent views across the ocean. Return from the train ride and depart from Cape Point. A stop for lunch will be made. We travel along the False Bay coast past many little bays until we reach Simonstown, the headquarters of our navy in South Africa.  We stop to view the protected Jackass penguins at Boulders Beach. After this we visit the statue of the famous navy dog,Just Nuisance.  Continue past picturesque St James where Cecil John Rhodes who discovered Rhodesia lived and died. Return to Cape Town late afternoon. Overnight Portswood Hotel. (B)

Day 3.  Depart from the hotel for Stellenbosch where we visit some of the interesting places. Then head for Paarl where the Language Monument is situated on the side of Paarl Rock.  It was built to commemorate the different language groups in the country. Then depart for Franschhoek and on to Boschendal wine estate, one of the top wine estates in the Franschhoek area. We go to the cellar and taste some of the most superior wines in the country under the shady trees in the garden. Lunch is at Boschendal and will either be a picnic lunch or buffet. After lunch we return to Cape Town and visit some of the historical places such as Cape Town Castle, the Malay Quarter, The Houses of Parliament, The Groote Kerk, The Company’s Gardens, and other places of interest. We return to our hotel late afternoon. Evening at leisure. (B,L)

Day 4.  Day at leisure for shopping at the V & A Waterfront. Overnight (B)

Day 5.  This morning we have a leisurely breakfast and then depart for the airport for our flight to Nelspruit in Mpumalanga the home of the “Big Five” animals.  Depart about 10h00 and arrive in Nelspruit at 12h00. Here you will meet your driver who is going to drive you for hour and half to Camp Shawu. Our first stop is the main camp  at Shishangeni where we check in and then our luggage is loaded onto our open 4 X 4 vehicle for the half an hour drive to Camp Shawu. Camp Shawu is a small luxury camp situated on a lake which is home to the “Big Five” as well as many species of antelope, hippos and crocodiles. The 4 star chalets are built right on the water and the animals spend much time drinking here so there is always activity around the lake. At night you will hear the hippos in the water around your chalets. Arrive here in time for your afternoon game drive. Your guide is bound to find a lot of animals as well as lion and cheetah which are in abundance in this area. Game view until the sun starts setting and then your ranger will find a suitable place and stop in the bush. He will then serve drinks and snacks while you will see the sun set. When you are ready you will again board the vehicle and with the help of spotlights find the nocturnal animals. About 19h00 you will return to camp for  a delicious dinner in the dining room. Enjoy some wine with your dinner and chat with your fellow passengers about the sightings of the day. Retire to bed for the night. (B,D)

Day 6.  You will be woken very early for the first game drive of the day at about 6h00 and then you have half an hour to get to the dining rooms for coffee and snacks before heading out on our early morning game drive.  Your ranger will do everything possible to show you as much as he can. Once again stop in the bush somewhere for a welcome come of coffee or tea and snacks while welcoming the new day and the bright sunshine. You will do further game viewing until 09h00 and then return to camp again.  Breakfast will be waiting for you on your return. After breakfast you may want to catch up on some sleep as you had an early morning or a shower to start the day. There is a plunge pool to enjoy on the deck from where you can watch all the animals coming down to the water. You also have a deck leading out of your room which is partly tented and partly dung walls where you can sit and enjoy the animals. It is a beautiful spot. Lunch is served and 13h00. Time for a quick snooze before refreshments are served with tea and coffee before the start of the late afternoon game drive at 16h00. Once again your ranger will take a different drive to find all the animals. Stop for refreshments in the bush at sunset. Further game drive until 19h00 when you return to camp for dinner and overnight. (B,L,D)

Day 7.  Same itinerary as the previous day. Overnight (B,L,D)

Day 8.  You will be woken very early for the first game drive of the day at about 6h00. Enjoy your final game drive of your tour and return to camp for breakfast. After breakfast we pack our bags and then we are collected for our drive to Shishangeni lodge. Here we settle any accounts we may have signed for. Then we board our other vehicle and drive back to the airport for our flight back to Johannesburg.
